Before I removed the radiator cover, I would trim it like this...
Go to your local parts store to grab some edge trim made to protect doors and slap it on there. I think it looks pretty clean compared to nothing at all.
I would get the X IC first,(you won't regret it) then if necessary cut it in like the carbon fiber pic. Then get Drew's FQ-400 intakes and you will be good to go. You'll have a nice clean look and all the fresh air she can take.
I'm really not into the CAI thing. They can tend to be a waste of time and money for most cars until you're running BIG boost. I am going to get a larger intercooler eventually. Just purchased my cat-back to put on when I put my HFC on. Bigger intercooler and LICP and then I'll be done for awhile. I'll post pictures in a build thread as I go along. Thanks for the tips. I'm thinking I might let a professional body shop do that particular cut and stripping. I would hate myself forever if I FUBAR'd the cooling plate. Even though I'm sure in three months I'll have a new fancy CF one. Haha.
