Update:

-So the the car isn't going to be considered a salvage because it wasn't a total loss.

-Estimate comes out to just under $15K! Insurance is going to <3 me.

-OEM Intercooler cost MORE than my ETS 3.5" I/C!!!!!!

-Car should be back at home August 10th.

you can ask the insurance to use ur aftermarket parts instead of oems...espacially you tell them it's cjeaper...9 out of 10 times they'll agree to it...

Good to Hear about the title!
Wow 15k thats half the cost of the car!!
lol oem intercooler is oem interfooler

Dont be in a hurry to sign any paper or accept the car back.
Make sure you inspect everything
*Paint match*
*Body lines
*Gaps
*check hood hinges headlights etc..

The insurance didnt have a problem replacing my aftermarket parts. The body shop on the other hand did. They basically said the samething a NON-SCM dealer would say, we dont want to void the warranty or in this case have the aftermarket parts cause problems w/ their work.

Ultimately, because the OEM intercooler was $700! they opted for the ETS

I'd show up too if I wasn't so far away lol. Trust me, your car wont be the same. I just hope you got a better body shop then I did. My car is hideous now, paint is crap and has bubbles on it and fadded in places like around the hood vents. I have two dents in the back because of the dealership. One in the passenger back fender and one on the trunk right next to the mitsu symbol. Scraps and nicks all over it. My accident was April 22 and I still dont have it back. Got the car in Jan of this year, had 2500 miles on it.

Funny things is my cars damage was 15 (So far) also. Do you know if it has a trans problem. Mine does, and the wiring harness is messed up. (Sigh) so sad

Dont accept the car back! contact BBB (Better Business Bureau)
Contact your insurance & have them take care of it!
I hate body shops! you spend so much money on them & they cant do their job right!

Whats the name of the body shop??? You should put them on the hot seat by posting their lack of professionalism on all the forums. Help warn all other car owners from getting ripped off.

Iv contacted the insurance 3 times to fix it. All 3 times I got it repainted it comes out slightly better in some areas and worse in others and its getting that orange peel look more and more. The only way I can get it to look good is to bring it to a different bodyshop and that way I have to pay out of pocket.

Yep trans isnt shifting right, it shifts like if you were in winter and started driving without letting it warm up (Very rought shifts no matter what gear). Also it chatters if you go around a turn alittle harder then usaual or just give it the gas to pass a car on the highway.

Its the wiring harness thats right near the drivers side fender (Dont know where any other ones are at). And I dont have pics of the car after the bodyshop, to be honest I dont know if theyll show the damage or not. Im using my phone for everything. Ill try and snap a few pics when I get it back from the dealership. As for accident pics, I have plenty of those. The most F**ked up part about this bodyshop is thats the owner is a family friend for like 20 years. I knew him as a kid and he screwed me over. Bodyshop name is Bayonne Vehicle, located in Bayonne New Jersey on 22nd Ave A. So if anyone on this fourm lives in Bayonne STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

I might have to sue the guy now just to try and make my car look the way it did before the crash. When I get it back im gonna swing by a different bodyshop and ask how much it will cost to fix up all the CRAP damage that the bodyshop and the dealership did to it.
