Exclamation Going wingless help needed!!

Well, after seeing how the wicked white RalliArt looks wingless....I've finally decided to go wingless! The thing is.....that a new trunk would cost me way more than I can afford. After looking at some other forums...I found out that you can buy OEM plugs from Mitsubishi that sit flush w/ the trunk that come like $3-5 a plug. The part number for anyone that wants to know is MU001282. Anyways the plugs come in black....which would look really weird w/ my WW RA. So I was wondering, if I get some touch up paint (W37), would it be able to pull the look off? I don't think anyone else has done this but it would be a HELL of a lot cheaper than buying a new trunk. What do you guys think?

One option is RRM's wing delete kit:

But the piece that covers the holes is an eye sore...

Get vinyl stickers that match your car as closely as possible

Agreed.....the pieces that cover the holes is unappealing.....I wish there were some wingless DE owners that I could just trade trunks with.

Does the DE model have the fastkey? thats the problem i kept coming across...all the GG trunks that wanted to trade werent fastkey trunks...so either you live w/out the fastkey for the trunk or make a hole and install the button on the trunk.

Actually I've looked around and I could not find a fast key trunk at all for the DE. I'd still take that though just for the wingless look. I hate having the little wing block my vision whenever I try backing up. I just don't want to buy a new trunk because painting one that you could buy from Mitsubishi would be expensive and I wonder if I could pull it off by just plugging the holes putting some white vinyl on them that I have from my Graphic Design class.

Here's a picture I found of a WW w/ plugs. It does seem a little bit odd to me. It just looks weird..lol

Here's a pic of how the holes sit too!

I would buy some sticker vinyl the same color as your car and cut come circles with it and stick them on the holes. The black plastic plugs thing painted the color of the car will work too. The sticker thing is actually a tiny bit less noticeable and easier. Especially since your car is white, you should be able to get some generic white vinyl pretty easy. Even some white vinyl tape.

It is a total biatch getting the stock spoiler off. The bolts are easy enough to undo. But it is also stuck on with double sided tape. Lots of patience and slow careful prying is needed.
