Default What to do to brighten up the interior ?

Not sure if this is the correct page to ask this in but if not no doubt so kind mod' will move it !
My GB/EU Ralliart Sportback GS 2011 is very grey inside ! grey ! grey ! or black !!
I have a set of red (matches the paint) car mats on order but wondered if there was anything else that could be done to add just a little light/colour to the grey ?
Anyone done anything to the interior of their car ?

Need ideas.

Cheers

Brian

Metrorestyling offers 13 colors of CF vinyl and imo just as good as 3m

http://www.metrorestyling.com/Metro-...yl-s/12377.htm

i did red CF in my car:

You could also wrap the headliner in a different material. i wrapped mine in black suede and added a little something extra...a mitsubishi logo that pops out of the headliner slightly. the grey pillars kinda breaks up all the black in the car now

if you do it yourself like i did, it shouldnt cost more than $100 plus an hour or 2 of your time.

i like using www.yourautotrim.com for my auto interior and poker table supplies. ill occasionally get coupon code from them too

use sculpting foam (http://www.yourautotrim.com/sculptingfoam.html) to cut out a design of your choice and glue it to the headliner before gluing the new material over it.

i got my suede from a local fabric shop (that was also on sale) that i put on the door panels too but in the sun it kinda looks purple so i'll end up re-doing them with this:

http://www.yourautotrim.com/suheobl.html

but if you're gonna do a design underneath, i would go with suede that doesnt have a foam backing. their uni-suede is expensive, but well worth it

http://www.yourautotrim.com/noname34.html

EDIT i just got off the phone with them and they have a few different suede products and im not 100% sure which have the backing

Now that I do like, brings some colour into the car and gives a very individual look. I will certainly look further into this.

Could I ask, did you put the red on yourself and how much dismantling of the door cards did you have to do ? Is the material a simple sticky-back type or more compicated ?
Sorry for all the questions

Cheers

Brian

PS Thanks for all the other comments also.

everything on my car was done by me so yes the door panels had to be removed and the center console had to be ripped out and disassembled so i can wrap everything.

getting the doors off is easy. just 3 screws: one behind the chrome handle, one behind the hand you use to pull the door shut, and one on the outer edge of the door. the door pops right off. there are plastic tabs that hold the trim piece to the door. they are very rigid so they're easy to break.

taking out the console is more in depth but can be done with simple hand tools

Hey RalliArtist, how much of the 3D vinyle was required to wrap the dash and doors and center column like you did? I went to the metrorestyling web page and everything is in inches/cm. I would like to know approximately how much is required before I place an order.
