Default Another tore up RA

Had car 3 weeks, 2012 model with 11k miles. Running 50mph came over blind hill and pine tree was crossing the road. Impact around 25 or 30 and just missed airbag sensors.

Anything I should be wiery of the insurance company doing?

I hate it when the pine tree crosses the road.
I had did the same over the hill but i was lucky no pine tree was crossing the road.
Inside rear wheel lifted, asc kicked in & had a holy shit moment.

Second time was over some rail roads ramp, caught about a few feet of air & landed rough.

I have learned you have to be careful about braking down hill.

Looks repairable, just need a few replacement parts.

Yeah the pine tree laying across the road was a shocker. Other shocker was I was going the speed limit as it was late and normally see deer on that road.

It's gonna be a questionable fix, tranny didn't seem right when I tried to put it in park and then back into neutral to get it winched on the towback.

The damage appears to be as far back as the strut, its gonna be close to a total but no way to tell until the adjuster views it. 11k miles and $23k value is not in my favor for a total.

Question is will it ever be the same? Anyone think a repaired car is ever good as new?

Haha. Thanks for the honesty. I was feeling the same way. I kind hope it totals out. It's gonna cost me a bit more money but I will atleast have that piece of mind.

Sorry about the loss of innocent life of RA. Are you going with another RA?

Next time, try slowing down when coming across an unknown hill or turn. Just a thought.

I'm still waiting on insurance to view and make a decision, its gonna be close to total I think, but not sure it will make it quite there.

Yeah your probably right I could have been going a bit slower but I drive the road fairly often and the last thing I expected was a homeless pine to be wandering.

I'm concerned about that transmission, it didn't seem right. I hope they take a good look at it.

Isn't that the trans cooler right there where impact is? If so at minimum it's gonna need 400$ worth of sst1 fluid.

Looks like I will be continuing to be a RA owner with you guys. $8000+ of damages and the register will probably rise a bit more but should be fixed in next 2 to 3 weeks. Lets just hope everything runs correct and long term.
