I used plasti dip on the ring and the bumper. I think I did around 6 coats. Already went through a heavy winter season. It has held up very nice and gets a lot of good comments. I highly recommend it!

I didnt write a How-To, but on the first page of this thread i wrote a brief post on removing the chrome with the bumper on.Its super easy.only involves a stubby screw driver pretty much.If anyone wants to know how to take it off with the bumper on in more depth Id be more than happy to help

So is the chrom trim on the RA real chrome on metal or is it the plastic chrome?

Nope, $300 piece of chrome-painted plastic. Major ripoff, it's not worth more than $75 at most.

mine looks like its driven through a few rock mine fields in its day, tons of dents but not a single chip out of the chrome exposing the plastic underneath...

at least its a good piece of overpriced plastic

Eh, it's not that great. Once it's removed from the bumper it's quite fragile.
