Even with the tight-fitting AFE filter, I can change it in about 5 minutes or less. The key is to remove the bolt on the lower right side of the air filter bracket.

Tools required: Socket wrench, 10mm socket and extension. It can also be done with just a 10mm wrench if you have small enough hands.
Thanks, i'll make a note of it for when i have to clean/swap it

I picked up a Works drop-in a few weeks ago, and tested it on the track this weekend. Works seems to flow better than the AFE drop-in I had been using before, but that might be my wishful thinking as it cost quite a bit more. If I ever get some reasonably priced dyno time, I will do a back to back test of Works vs AFE to see if there is much of a difference.

The Works filter itself is slightly smaller than AFE, making it easier to get into the airbox. It also comes with a metal bracket to keep it centered and tight. That's a big step up for K&N's crappy hard plastic bracket that had a tendency to break.

K&N & AEM also offers dry-flow drop-in filters now.

I still use the oiled one. No problem so far.
Would love to try out the new dry-flow drop in but not in the budget.

Yes, Yeah no kidding, they do. Might be a top secret type of thing though.
