2011 ralliart
changed the exhaust from front to back including the down pipe and cat to a 3 inch on my 2011 ralliart, engine light came on,runs super rich, backfiring,at over 100km/h it cuts out to a stumble in the rpm and the accelarator doesn't work, have to pull over and restart the car for it to run properly, says transmission requires service, mitsubishi blames the exhaust, why is the exhaust throwing the car off so much and how can I fix this,caper6

Ok, first off are you tuned?
Secondly, you have a full exhaust system including a new downpipe and either a test pipe or high flow cat?
If you're running on the stock ROM, you can't run anything more than a catback exhaust and a drop in filter without having issues. If you're running a full turboback system, you need a tune, period.
List out ALL of the mods you have and what tune, if you have one.

Can we get some more information about what has been done to the car?
-NFSLancerRA, who suspects that the exhaust is just the tip of the iceberg.

Tuner didnt do a good job of tuning with your custom setup.
Find a tuner that know more about TC-SST then your current tuner.
You cant reset ECU after mod like that & expect ECU+TCU to play nice with each other.

Downpipe? That's the famous boost cut, I had no idea mitsu does that too. my STi had Cobb stage 2, what a piece of sh!t ! Even after Agile tuned it the damn boost cut kept coming back, take that POS Cobb out and flash using GST maps.

If i were you, I would go thru process of elimination.
Starting with the lastest thing you installed,
Going back towards Stock map/ Stock setup.
Sometimes people that are out to make money will claim anything/everything under the sun to get your money.
If all you have is exhaust system & stock intake, you might try Free GST flash.
What kind of BOV do you have? this can be contributing factor in losing boost. Most adjustable BOV need to be adjusted with the tune.
