Default Need help figuring this one out.

I saw this clip on YouTube awhile back and want to do the same thing but after watching this video time after time i cant fure out how they ran the lights and hide them. Hopefully you guys cant help me out.

I cannot guarantee this but if I had to guess since you never see the dash with out the lights on, I would say it could be a led strip light wired into the lights in his dash so it comes on when they do. That was a no brainer he simply has a little 4 inch pc of those LED light strips sitting across the bottom between the gauges might even be just 2 way tapped on the surface and it lights up and is reflected off all the surrounding surfaces. Might be cool at first be would wear thin pretty soon as you now have to look past a bright light to see your guages. Your eyes instinctively want to go to the brightest point. Also this can cause glare on the inside glass and cause you to not see things when driving at night.

If I were you I would wire this to the door switch so it would only come on with the interior lights. That way when you want to show off your car your gonna have to either open the door to show people or you might be able to have it come on if you use the manual over ride switch for the interior lights. Sorry just don't wanna see you run over some kid because you could not see them.
