Question window vents?

I've got some questions about window vents, like these:
http://www.rexpeed.net/2012/en/produ...php?serial=227

I'm wondering if they always keep the window open or if the window can close all the way?

I mostly want them because they look cool but the functionality would be enjoyable as well.

You set them in and roll the window up to them. The window will not shut completely, because obviously these will be in the way. You roll down the window take them out and then roll it up. They are for looks.

Thanks for the reply. I figured they would be like that but hoped for a permanent type of thing with space between it for the window to go up.

I wonder if this will do anything for track days? As they(rexpeed) state.. Youre usually forced to keep your fromt windows down, which mean you have to open the rears a bit, or youll get cavitation.. Im assuming its mostly for looks..

What they're actually for is if you're using a roof vent/scoop on a track car it lets the incoming air circulate and escape.
