Mine did the same after about 500km probably due to hot oil being on it ruins the finish

Before the last oil check my dipstick was smooth like a new born dolphin. Now the area where the oil level was is visibly changed with the outer shiny coating GONE!!!!

You are not the only one I also had this issuse with RP I used RP for 2 oil changes and went back to M1 because It last longer. I not only had the dipstick get dull but I had oil sepadge on the timming cover in one area near the water pump. I put some Lucus Oil Synthetic oil stabilizer in the engine got the techs at Mitsu to put some degreeser on the oily area and drained the RP. I never had any issuse with RP in previous cars but RP and Ralliart dont mix or the quality of RP had dropped.

I know too many people who well tell you bad experiences with R.P.... Someone even told me RP isn't recommended for long usuage. But hey just saying... Mobil 1 would be a better and safer choice.

Me personally I run Valvoline VR1 Race Oil Full Syn.

Mines was shiny untlie I used royal purple over a year ago and havent had any issuse besides the sweating on the small area by the water pump. Other than that I just use an oil flush/cleaner and M1. Plus the dipstick is a thin metal with so the finish can easily burn off with high amounts of heat. The moving components in your engine is made of far superior strong heat treated material.
