Question Cold start tranny noise

I had to have my car towed into the dealership (275 miles), the nearest one, to have a grinding sound at start up checked out. The dealership found nothing. Has any one else had this problem?

Does anyone's SST make a whining noise? When in idle does it sound like there is a whine coming from it

There are a couple of threads with videos and sound clips on evolutionm. Do a search there and see if they have any solutions. From what I recall, Mitsubishi pretty much denies its an issue, even though it is obviously a nasty sound and not right. Good luck.

After the dealership changed out the filter and housing the noise has calmed down. Guess I should change the filter every 5k miles. The filter is so small it gets dirty fast. Found the sat filter at Ssp parts for just under $70.
