Default AC Turned On

Anyone else notice the transmission being more jerky between 1st and 2nd gear when you have the AC on? Without AC its fine... It's very noticeable in traffic when accelerating then braking quickly in bumper to bumper traffic. Hard to describe its almost like I accelerate, start braking, and then engine braking occurs giving me a ruff stop/start. This is usually when I pop it into manual mode and upshift to second and coast.

Mine does too kinda. I also have a rough idle sometimes with the air on. Do these cars have an IAC motor like older ones? Or is the idle controlled by the ECU?

This happens to me, too, but I've never tried seeing if there was a difference with no A/C. It drives my girlfriend crazy when she's in the car.

EDIT: It is much smoother with the A/C off. Good to know.

I notice the same thing. It's kind of annoying. I also wish we could have the choice of having the a/c on or off when we put it in windshield setting instead of it automatically being on.

Once I started modding the car...i always drove in Sport manual mode...ALWAYS.

It is said..that normal mode causes more heat (slower engagement) thus wearing down the clutches faster.

I didn't see any post that they had their car in auto mode . I drive mine always in Sport manual mode also. This happens to me when the A/C is on in manual Sport Mode. It feels like it slips or mis shifts only when the A/C is on or when I put the vent to windshield on because the A/C clutch is automatically engaged even though it won't show the A/C is on at the knobs.

Here you go

I only experienced weird shifting issues while the tranny was still cold or when I was in Auto Normal mode.

Still not seeing AUTO in his sentence lol. Maybe I'm reading it wrong?

I always have my car warmed up. I have auto start and have it on for at least 10-12 minutes before I drive it. I still get that same feeling when the A/C is on. I even had all my fluids changed and my transmission cooler upgraded.

If he pops it into manual, that means that prior to popping it into manual....he was in non-manual which is sometimes called?
