AMS mini battery kit.
Anyone having problems with the battery itself. Since the install my car had had problems starting. Like it was dead. And just to day I was out logging some new launch stuff, when the car backfired and shut itself off. I thought I blew my car up, checking everything I noticed the positive terminal on my battery unscrewed itself. I've tightened it many times but it seems to come undone. Tightened it with my hands and the car fired right up. I'll be putting a larger battery in my trunk soon.

I have had issues with the AMS small battery as well. Rapid discharge, even when it was trickle charged on a regular basis. It happened so often that I switched back to a 32lb Optima Red Top 35 battery and said goodbye to the headaches. For the 17lb difference, I couldn't be bothered with the hassle.

A while back I looked up the specs for the Genesis battery that comes in the kit, and found the manufacturer generally recommended it for use on ATVs, not cars.

Try some threadlock, You can usually change the connectors, but overall these are terrible batteries for DD.. Once the gel cel dies, the batt can't be recharged or jumped.. It's a bummer. We get smaller batteries than EVOs, maybe there's something decent in between this and stock?

LOL, yes they can be recharged!
These batteries are designed for ATV, Sea Doo's, stripped race cars with no stereo, etc. These batteries have around 225cca and are ideal for a weekend racer not a daily driver. Also, if you note the reserve capacity of one of these powersport batteries to your oem battery there is a significant difference, if you have even the slightest draw your battery will die extremely quick.
I'm in automotive/industrial battery sales.
There's lots of good group 35 batteries out there. Odyssey, Northstar, Exide's Flat Plate AGM, Optima. That would be my personal opinion on best to good.

Haha wow if I had known that I would have never bought it.
Glad I'm not the only one, I got stuff for a battery relocation, I was just going to use the stock battery.... or should I get a better one?

Yeah you can make it hold a little charge... but Once these are dead, they will not properly hold a good starting charge again.. I've experienced this with several gel cell batts.. Some of these can barely turn over an engine with OEM exhaust, once drained these are almost worthless.. And they're much harder to jump than reg batts once drained.. Save the money and headaches, unless you need to shave weight bad? Skip it..
