Need advice about a short ram intake
So I've got a 2011 RA I've been looking into doing upgrades. I'm pretty much a noob, so I put a nice borla catback on her and some
New headlights. Now I'm on my next project and not sure if anyone knows or not, but I was looking at an injen short ram intake built for an evo x, if I put in the evo x inter cooler I assume those parts would line up correctly? The only concern I have at the moment is I'm looking at my RA's engine bay vs an evos engine bay and it seems like the battery in an evo is in a different location? The short ram intake looks like it would sit right where the battery is in the RA. Does anyone know if that's the case or suggestions around this?

The battery for the Evo is in the trunk. I've seen pictures of the Ralliart that look like they moved the battery closer to the front bumper to fit an intake. But I think most people relocate it to the trunk.

IDK but with the DIY intake, theres no need to relocate the battery, unless you wanna do it for other reasons

In all seriousness, if you wanna exp with intake systems, a batt relocation will be one of the best mods youll do, we get super small week ass batteries, and for balance, youd really rather have the weight in the rear.. Its fairly simple, hopefully you can find the trunk bits that hide the battery on an evo forum, otherwise its just some wiring.. And a small hose to send the batt gasses out of the trunk..

Wouldn't a retune also be needed with the intake?

RA stock intake more efficient and effective.
I plan to keep my stock intake with new turbo setup.

I have the SRI injen intake dont get it. Dont get me wrong it tuned, sounds and great but you will need a heat sheild for the filter an some refelecta gold for the pipping. The SRI gets hot matter of fact that all get hot. The stock air box is much better because you are sucking air up from the front just get a drop in filter. Dont waist money like I did. And the evo intake wont fit our cars unless you have the x swap and the battery relocated to the rear.
But if you can build an intake that will have the filter sit towards the finder pointing toward the back side of the battery away from the cooland hoses it may work. Just my 2 cents. Prayfully this helps have a blessed day.

Just an FYI for the new guys. I know you are excited about doing mods now that you finally own a Ralliart.
But unless you are going to do an Evo X turbo swap within the next year or less. Stick with the factory air box and simply replace stock filter with a higher flowing after market re usable one.
The reason is that the factory design can flow more air than the stock turbo will EVER be able to use and it provides cooler air from outside our hot engine compartment.
If you do some research you will see dozens of people who have tried all sorts of aftermarket intakes on our cars spent hundreds of dollars having the car run like hell then spending hundreds more trying to get car re tuned to accommodate new intake and in some cases lose horsepower versus stock setup in order to achieve drivability.
This is why if you check the various forums you will always find someone trying to sell off their after market intake and telling you how great it is. If it's so great why is he selling? Usual response is he is selling car, but months later you see he still has it.
Also keep in mind this is the biggest Red Flag for a dealer to take pictures of this in your engine compartment and not tell you this. Then if something goes wrong pictures get sent in and bye bye warranty.
Bottom line unless you are upgrading the turbo and fuel system and will need a substantial increase in airflow. Save your money for exhaust and bigger IC with pipes etc.. instead and reap the benefits.
