nice!

If you are using the "never remove your hands" technique, the paddles can be very hard to get to. Plus, the stick is quicker I think.

Yeah, I tried! My hands became pretty frantic in the quick stuff.

The paddles can be fast if you pull and release quickly. The awkward part is trying to do the reach-around to get to them when the wheel isn't perfectly straight.

Thats because you are not paying attention to your steering input.

If you use shuffle steering you would have less "frantic" moments.
Once you've learned shuffle steering, (LHD car) when the steering input is done with the right hand, how left hand guides/slip or grip/hold the steering while it goes back to neutral position, you would have less frantic moments. Steering input style is your own.
I use 5 o'clock & 7 o'clock because Im lazy, lol. Sometimes I would pull up, sometimes I would pull down on the steering wheel.
Since both hands are working the wheels in hand-off concept it makes steering quick & precise.

This advise concept may not be easy to grasp but once you got it, you can make your car to a belly dance.

Auto is still slow compare to manual.
The reason is, auto has to go to specific rpm before gear change.
With Manual I can change gear anytime I feel like it.

Example: If you go into the corner, you hit the brake sometimes auto will not downshift til it reaches certain rpm.
In manual, sometimes I dont even brake just downshift & steering input & gas.

I use pedal/ service brake for weight transfer. When you're trying to go fast using too much brake can slow you down.
I use e-brake for lateral control.

There are techiques you can do to oversteer & understeer.
Both can be used to your advantages. Its about timing, when to do certain input.

Very true.

The tranny delays downshifting far too long for my liking in auto mode. Failure to downshift can be a momentum-killer on corner exit.

Cheapest tires I could afford Nankang NSII 245/40/18 & Enkei Evo X GSR wheels. Rolled the rear fenders.
It fits fine.

I had Dunlop Direzza Starspec once I went thru that in two months. It was used but had some treads left,
Took every turn without braking...didnt last long for me.

Nankang has reaction delay because harder compound rubber, so input has to be done prior to the event/corner.
The same can be said when you're going way faster than you should.
Best advice is learn by experience & doing things slowly. +1mph at a time repeat til you perfect your techniques.

Watch your rpm, control your gear to be in your rpm/powerband range.

When you go into a corner as soon as you left off the gas, rpm will slowly go down.
When you press the brakes, rpm will dip down even lower.
During this time, you want to downshift to bring rpm back up so when you press the throttle it will be in the powerband.

If Im comfortable enough to control the momentum going in, I would just downshift once
(since I dont have bucket seat, I would turn my left foot to point inward) before entry,
Downshift once more before or during apex, (no braking) & throttlesteering input to maintain oversteer/understeer.
Sometimes I forget to point my left foot inward & my knee would get banged up against the door.

I have screwed up so many times trying this during autox...
