Default time for transmission fluid change need a little input from the fam..

so i'm in need of changing the transmission fluid and don't really want to take it to the stealership because their trying to charge me an arm and a leg(480-500).. i looked on the forums and it does not look hard(only hard part is the filter it said lol) i was just wondering if anyone knows where i can get the fluid and the filter and what kind of fluid would be best to use. also if i should do the oil change as well at the same time. i red i should but wanted some in put.

also im depending if i should take it to the stealership in case i have any problems with the transmission i can take it back because it'll be under warranty lol..

thanks ralliart friends!!!

If I was you I would say buy the products that you want and do it yourself. But if your worried about breaking somehing buy the stuff you want and have them or a good tuner/ mechanic install it like im doing. Also I know your concerned about price but south side performance has a deal right now if you call them. They give you 8 quarts of their high performance trans fluid and a reusable filter for like 430 shipped I think it was. And it works better than the stock fluid.

i more then likely was gonna do it my self because i like to do my own work on my car unless its something to where i have to take it in lol, as for that high performance fluid do you feel a big or somewhat difference in acceleration and shifting or even trying to lunch it? i might just go with SSP because my sister in law will be out in so cal(with in 15 miles of the hb speed inc. dealer) this week and will be driving back with her mom that same weekend lol.

thanks for the in put

I haven't used it myself yet as I just picked it up today should be in my car by end of next week though and it is supposed to hold up better and allow for less wear on parts its the same fluid used in their time attack evo x

I'm looking to do it no later then 30K miles. i was reading on another site that they recommended it should be done if it's the first time at 25K cuz he did it at 29K or so and the filter part was wicked dirty and when he changed it the shifting was so much better/faster.
