Exclamation Recall sr-14-009

Recall is out now. Check with your dealers. They replace the drive belt. 08-11 Lancer(all models inclu Evo) and Outlander NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V562000 has all the supporting documents on the site. 2nd image is an actual friends recall(RA)

I have not received anything from Mitsubishi regarding this. I do not plan on taking it to the dealer as I have no problems. Plus I am afraid they will flash the ECU even if I tell them not to touch it. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Default Dealer was clueless

I checked with my dealer yesterday, (I was in for a routine oil change) and they couldn't find this recall in their system. The Campaign Numbers they had only went up to 14V55**** and this one is 14V56***! I showed the service manager this post and he shrugged and said "Maybe it's brand new and Mitsubishi will be sending me info about it soon. Keep checking in with me."

I had the drive belts replaced this year with my 30,000 mile service. Any idea how this affects that? I guess that belt would be the same quality as the original one and still need the recall. Did I just waste my money on it though when they're now doing this for free? Or is this "countermeasure" part not actually a new drive belt?

I had this service done a couple years ago. Belt, tensioner and pulleys were replaced. I received this letter the other day and in order to get a full refund all you have to do is send your original service receipt in to the Mitsubishi Human Resources Department. Those instructions are also I'm the letter
