Example, most people don't even have a clue that turbo wastegate duty cycles, tire diameter, engine VE, etc actually play a role in vital SST functions. Aka, if people are tooning SST equipped mitsus like they are tooning manual transmission mitsus, they are doing it wrong.

Uh oh. This may be my problem then. Damnit! There goes 600 bucks worth of snow tires and wheels.

i think he was referring to the fact you said tire diameter can affect the way the sst performs, i had the same thought about my steelies on 205-60-16...thought i wasted money

My tire calc says that a 205/60/16 compared to a 215/45/18 will produce 99.7 kmh and show 100 on the speedo. There's no way in hell tires can break a tranny unless they got it seriously wrong. In that case.. not our fault. Show me in the book where it says I cant. The spare tire they provided me with cant be good either then.

i know its not going to hurt the transmission as far as functionality, but from a performance standpoint maybe...but i guess if i have snow tires on i probably shouldn't be hot rodding it anyway

My car one day, decided that gears Reverse, 1, 3 and 5 would not function. (All on the odd Transaxle of course).

I turned the car off, let the computers reset themselves, and everything has been fine since.

I figured if you said tire diameter was programmed into the SST, that the 5-10% difference in the stock 18's and the 16inch 205/60R16 snows I have on, may be negatively affecting the SST.

(I was driving it a bit hard when the SST decided to have its fit)
