You know what, Ive given it a little thought and I dont give a fuck about it. Like I said, I was trying to help but I dont have a timing chain failure so until I do Im not worried about it. So if there was any point at all to his post, I dont give a rats ass. I do not see it in any shape or form but if I have to hear more bullshit from anybody Im not interested either. This is getting dragged off topic from my suggestion of trying Magnuson-Moss if you're getting screwed because you have mods to an issue of...what Magnuson-Moss covers? Maybe? Im not sure, but in any case its not fair to those who started the thread so I'll be the adult here and bow out of this childish crap. Good luck to those with failures I hope my suggestion might help atleast one of you.
Wow, completely unnecessary to have that kind of an attitude. You've been one to really show your ass here on this forum and the other members here are starting to notice it. We don't need this kind of crap here, so either chill out or leave. This is an ONLINE FORUM, and by you getting all upset puts you in the same league as the idiots that get pissed off about stuff on Myspace and Facebook. Stop with being disrespectful to other members for no reason.

How many miles do you have on your RA?

Just under 39K km or roughly 24K miles.

The car sees some track time, but it is on a pretty tight maintenance schedule.

The oil (Castrol Edge 5W30 synthetic) is changed every 3 months and my mileage is modest. I recall something in one of the Evo X training videos talking about oil breakdown contributing to timing chain stretch, so hopefully I've eliminated that factor for my car.

I've been taught to always change the oil at 3,000 miles, regardless of the type of oil used. Helps extend engine life, keeps it cleaner. I don't trust the 5k or 7.5k mile maintenance, that's way too long for any engine running any oil IMO.

We are on the same page, as my quarterly mileage is under 3,000 miles.

Has there been any tracking to see if those with timing change stretch have exceeded 3,000miles between oil changes?

Default 3000 mile test

Hi guy's I drove all the way from Barstow,CA to Austin,TX then to Columbia,SC the av miles driven per day of the trip were around 600 to 800 with a av speed of 80 to 90 mph.
2 days to Texas and 2 day from texas to SC I did a oil change in CA before I left and 1 in Texas before I left.
I drive my X pretty hard even played leep frog with a cor-vet on the way he was way faster in the top end around 120mph up.
No timing cain issues or any thing but I am not shure which models or years have this issue.

Good stuff

I wonder who has the most mileage without a timing chain incident on a '09 or newer RA?

My buddy had about 60000 miles on his 2010 without issues before he totaled his ralliart.

I have about 33000 miles without issue. Ive been to the track a couple of times and on a couple of mountain runs. Mine is 09.

2009 with 38K+ Miles, no issues what so ever.
I drive hard on the track & controlled environment (5k-6k rpm range).
Drive slow (3k rpm limit in every gear) on my daily drive to work & home, & out to meets.
Still love my RA.

Here's a little update guys. I decided that a whole lawsuit deal just wasn't realistic and takes too long to process. So I ended up filing with the Federal Trade Commission, BAR, and the City of Costa Mesa just more as a small claims deal. Just waiting on them to get back to me but they are hella laggin' it, especially SCM. Hopefully all will turn out well and I will be able to recoup some of my money back. I'll let you guys know the outcome as soon as this progresses.
