I have an '09 and changed my fluids and tranny filter around the 30,000km mark. Didn't help my 1-2 gear upshift jerk much

Oddly, the tranny only jerks with half or more throttle, from a standing start. If I need to get the jump on traffic at a light, I've learned to roll forward a bit, then punch it.

It is encouraging to hear newer model years don't seem to have this issue.

+1, I'm at 7500 miles and still rocking like it's brand new.

Good stuff

I recall hearing something about a tranny revision in that took place in 2010. Has anyone else heard of that? If so, hopefully any outstanding issues were addressed.

My local dealer has seen '08 EVOs and '09 RAs with the same jerky heavy-throttle from a standstill issue as mine. They said they couldn't do anything for me (as tranny fluid was changed) because no error code has been generated.

Some vehicles eventually deteriorated to the point where odd or even gears were lost, with codes generated and warnings on the dash. In those cases, Mitsubishi corporate and the dealer did authorize the replacement of the transmission.

I experienced this at 20,000 miles. I had a hard time getting Mitsu to replace the tranny because for some reason the car would not throw any codes. It took about two weeks before I could convince Mitsu that there was something wrong.

So were you able to get them to replace the tranny under warranty?

I've dealt with two separate dealers, who both acknowledge there is an issue with my car, but neither is willing to go to corporate with a replacement request

I had the same problems after i hit 35k on mine, i would be driving on the freeway and it would jump to 5th. I would lose 2nd,4th,6th , i would have to pull over and turn the car off leave it for a couple of mins, then turn it back on. It would drive normal, it happened to me almost every other day with a transmission light symbol poping on and off every few days, mine also has been in a front end accident so i took to my body shop, because mine is reflashed and has upgraded parts i know Mits will not warranty it no more, the guy told me the code was saying basically the transmission fluid was not flowing enough through the transmission. I just bought the DiaQueen transmission fluid, and filter, I had it changed. I have been driving for two days so far since the change and nothings has happen so far.

thats a pic of the transmission filter.

That's what my filter looked like when I changed it. It also had an odd, almost burnt smell to it.

reading off of some other posts from people who have posted on evo forums are saying that mitsubishi wont work on the transmission. The costs of replacing the transmission is well above 10gs from the cost of the transmission and labor.
