Autozone or Kragen stocks them. Part number 33-2392. Retails about $50.

Wow it's the exact opposite where I live; only sell K&N at the local chains. Anyhow I actually find Cosworth to be better quality IMO. Both are high flow and get the job done.

I keep Cosworth dropin filters in stock because I think they are better. $43 cash and carry or $50 shipped within the lower 48 states.
I could pick up a K&N and it would be $55 shipped. But the chance of getting oil on your MAF sensor I think makes the K&N not worth it.

How is the life of the Cosworth filters compared to the K&Ns? Is it proven that the Cosworths provide better power and/or fuel economy over the K&Ns?

Not sure I understand the life question. Seems like the more dirt the filter catches, the sooner it will clog up and need to be cleaned or changed. One way to get it to clog faster would be to feed it more dirt. The filter manufacturer cant really control where and how you drive. The other way to clog it up faster would be to have it filter better. Like, the more dirt that passes through the filter, the longer the filter lasts?
I have not done a mileage test with any of the filters.

You pretty much answered the question about the life, I mean no filter lasts forever despite what K&N says. Maybe I should have said longevity rather than life. Is the Cosworth a dry flow filter?

However, I wouldn't mind switching to a synthetic filter is the power improvement is on par or better than the K&N. I've never had issues with any K&N filter I've used on my vehicles though.
