Default USTCC WORKS/Life’s Good Racing/MMNA Mitsubishi Ralliart takes 2nd Place at Infineon

WORKS has been putting this car together for some time now, with the plan constantly changing and heading in a new direction. This car started out as a joint project between WORKS Motorsports and MMNA to run one and then maybe two cars in the Speed World Challenge series. This plan was abandoned after the lack of sponsorship and funds to proceed with funding the team and getting the car out on track. WORKS worked diligently with Dave Brown (our in house Pro Driver) and the guys at Life's Good Racing for a couple of years now to finally complete the car and see what we could do.

Our test bed for the car before stepping directly into the Pirelli World Challenge series against the top teams in touring car in the nation was to enter it in the US Touring Car Championship and see how the car did. Our first outing at Thunderhill we qualified very well in 3rd place on the grid but, we ran into mechanical issues with the transfercase early on in the race. So with our first outing not so hot but, very productive as far as RnD goes we put the car back together for the next race at Infineon. The guys did an awesome job putting the car back together and getting it prepped with new livery for the Infineon USTCC race on Sunday. We fought hard to maintain 3rd place throughout the race when both 1st and 2nd place retired with mechanical failures. Now in 1st place Dave drove the wheels off the car to maintain position ahead of Pete Bovenberg in the MBO Motorsports/Rota Wheels Honda Civic Si. In the final laps of the race Dave and Pete battled side by side and wheel to wheel through almost every corner. Bumping and rubbing is normal in USTCC and with one little tap in turn 11 on the last lap Pete was able to get Dave to slow down just enough for a photo finish where Pete and the Honda Civic Si took 1st place away by one of the smallest margins of victory in USTCC HISTORY (SIX HUNDRETHS OF A SECOND)!!!

Here are some pictures of the event at Infineon and be sure to check out the finish on our Facebook page. We will be back at Thunderhill in mid-August and then back to Infineon at the end of the month for our possible debut in the Pirelli World Challenge series and 'Sports Car Wars'.

Co-Driver Karl Chicca also won the PTA class in the WORKS/Life's Good Racing/MMNA Mitsubishi Ralliart! Karl is the man behind Life's Good Racing and is becoming faster and faster each time out in the Ralliart. With Dave and Karl behind the wheel we are preparing for a stunning finish to the 2011 USTCC Season and for our maiden voyage into World Challenge!
