Default Woooo! Another TC-SST Problem.

At least 3 times a week my car will give me the "slow down" transmission overheating warning even under normal driving conditions. I also feel it slip a lot.
I've never tracked my car.
I don't think it should be giving me problems already. If its that weak, it should still be in Germany being tested.

Back in September I had a bad leak from the transmission and (Ontario Mitsubishi (in California)) kept my car for almost 2 weeks and they had to have a Tech come out to figure it out. I had a horrible experience with them that's still being disputed. But that's another story.

It almost doesn't seem worth keeping the TC-SST if all its given me is problems. I'm on the verge of getting a used GSR. Its cheaper to replace if it breaks.

I already have an appointment on Saturday to have them look at the engine chattering. I guess I'll just add this one to the list.

All of this happening to the transmission especially after reading the Getrag Exposed article makes me even more weary of the this transmission.

Ouch that really sucks!!! I to have had issues with my tranny and have also had bad customer service at the Ontario dealer. Best dealer to go to is South Coast Mitsu! There is love for us at SCM! Anyhow you mentioned you launched the vehicle, had a tranny leak, and know the vehicle has an overheating trans when under normal driving conditions. Not trying to diss you or anything but is it possible you launched the vehicle wrong?! Perphaps you just got an f'd up car to begin with. If the tranny was leaking and the dealer had to call in a specialist to fix it, it should only show you how finicky these trans really are. Pretty sure the specialist didn't do a good job if it's still giving you problems. Is your car still under warranty? I'd get a replacement asap! There's been times when I also have kicked myself and said I shoulda bought the GSR. My issues have been due to my modifications and the tranny being unable to keep up. Are you modified? If stock, then yeah get a replacement RA or opt for the GSR. Best of luck to you!

What issues have you had.

Yeah Ontario is HORRIBLE.
I was going to go to South Coast but I've heard good things about both of their service departments.

The car is still under warranty.

Sounds like you don't have enough SST fluid. How many miles on the car when you bought it & how many miles on it now?

Slow down warning come on when you lack of fluid or temperature reaches certain degree in your SST. Transmission Control Unit/Computer (TCU) prevents you from destroying the transmission.

remove the mods, especially the tune and have them replace your tranny

No offense taken. haha
The way I launch the car is the feather method where you bounce your foot on the gas pedal.

The car is still under warranty and I have VERY light mods. Just an axle back exhasut and the GST boost pill upgrade.
My issues have been the tranny slipping, gears not wanting to go in, and just recently gears shifting really hard as if in sport mode but when in normal mode. I got a tranny flush along with some other services and everything has been cool since. MTZL makes a good point about being low on fluid, especially since you had yours serviced. Don't be in such a rush to get rid of your car, if they fix it under warranty then cool IMO.

I bought it brand new with 7 miles on it 8 months ago. It currently has 12,000.
Maybe they didn't add more fluid when they "fixed" it last time.

Yeah I guess. I don't know. Thinking about it more, it makes me uneasy knowing I have a car with a $10,000 transmission in it that has taken a shit stock and with light mods from a bunch of different people and a company that tries harder to void your warranty than honor it supposedly.

If you are going in for warranty, change up your screen names and residence and dealer info on any online posts. It is not beyone MMSA to cross check social media to see what kind of mods, racing and abuse your car might have had if they are looking at eating an expensive transmission.

The walls have ears!
