Default Choosing next ride

Hello a'll.
I'm new here and I want your .02 here.
I'm drivin 08 Mustang V6, MT, Custom tuned.
And lookin for new ride with AUTOMATIC.

Here are qualifications.
1. AUTOMATIC. Not just 4 spd automatic, but somewhat sporty.
2. Larger than Mustang or more space than Mustang.
3. 0-6 time in 5.x sec.
4. Price range: $27000-34000
5. Sporty (or looks nice)

So I searched car manufacturers' web sites and search.
I was originally all into 2011 Challenger R/T. It is V8, American Muscle.
Heavy, but large. 375 horses (2010).
Then I found the RA.
Small, but fancy tranny with AWD. Low price (in comparison of Challenger (34k))
Sedan, not larger than Mustang more space.

There are more cars like Mazdaspeed 3, WRX, etc but they offer only MTs.
2010 Camaro? sucky interior, 2011 new Mustang? Driven once is enough.

You guys have any other input that fits in my qualification???

Now I more into RA than Challenger because of the price.
With that price, I can buy Lancer DE at same time for my mom.
I wonder dealers would make heck of deal if I buy two Lancers at same time??

The new Mustang GT is really an amazing car. This is coming from someone who hates modern American elder-tech muscle. The new GT, out of the box is faster, handles better, and stops much quicker than the RA hands down. I believe the gas mileage is even better. Ok, admittedly the Mustang is ugly as sin, but the #'s don't lie.

If you go to South Coast Mitsu, you'll get a ralliart for way less out the door than msrp.

The ralliart fits your requirements if you ask me.

@geargrinder: wow. let me know if the mitsu gods smite thee.

Trust me it hurt to say that about a Ford, but I think the gods will forgive me as I'm working on getting another Evolution

2009 Mustang GT

Engine Type 90-degree SOHC 24V V-8
Displacement 4.6 Liters
Transmission 5-speed manual (Tremec 3650)
Layout Front Engine, RWD
Horsepower 300 bhp @ 5750 rpm
Torque 320 lb-ft. @ 4500 rpm
Curb Weight 3,356 lb.
0-60 mph 5.2 sec
Fuel Economy 15 city /23 highway

VS

2009 Lancer Ralliart

Engine Type Turbocharged Inline 4 Cylinder
Displacement 1998cc
Transmission 6 Speed TC-SST Direct Shift Manual
Layout Front Engine, AWD
Horsepower 237 bhp @ 6000 rpm
Torque 253 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm
Curb Weight 3480 lbs.
0-60 mph 5.5 sec
Fuel Economy 17 city /25 highway mpg

Ok the numbers looks pretty close in 0-60 mph & gas mileage stock vs stock.

GT is alit better in acceleration but RA is better at mileage.

RA is 124 lbs heavier than GT because of AWD.

Stock vs Stock since RA is heavier & has lesser power in hp & tq but acceleration numbers are pretty close with GT.
GT is lighter & has more power but only .3sec faster in 0-60 mph acceleration.
For v8 the numbers are not that impressive.

Mustang were always slow from the way back when they started until Shelby stepped in.

Motortrend in their recent tests of the gt found that on the dyno, the car made
435hp
404ft-lb
Also, in their test the car did
0-60 in 4.3 secs
12.8 qt mile @ 110mph
Lateral acceleration. 94 g's
60-0 in 105'

These are impressive numbers.
