First 5-20k miles it will show that stupid warning.
I just the reset maintenance warning

http://www.clubralliart.com/showthread.php?t=286

during this period I couldnt change AWC mode or turn ASC on.

After reset it was all good again. Check to make sure you dont have any leaks etc. Maybe a good idea to change all your fluids.

Why not just keep the turboback exhaust and keep the car's tune stock? Plenty of people are running it fine...

And please only make one thread per topic as well, no need for the same topic in three different sections on the site.

Caper,

I've been getting this problem for a little while now. My car only has 7,100 miles on it. It started around 5,500 miles. My car is 100% stock, so it's nothing you did.

Basically, I'll be driving along just fine when suddenly I get at ASC message. The car won't accelerate, and doesn't downshift like it's supposed to. When it does eventually downshift, it shifts really hard almost like when you grind the clutch on a manual... only no grinding noises. Then when the car is sitting idol in park, you can see the RPM bounce up and down like in the video. This started off just once. Then about a month later it happened again, then a week later, then a day later, then several times in one day.

Here's what I know: My guys in the shop didn't have a fucking clue what it was. They called Mitsubishi themselves and had it sent up to an engineering team. The engineering team didn't know. So they ended up having to send out a district manager. The codes they pulled up were P061A, P1870, U1417 and, C121C.

Eventually what they came up with was to spray some of the electrical connections with some kind of thing that helps conduct electricity. It worked fine for about 3 weeks before it did it it again last weekend. So, I went back and told them about this. I've yet to hear anything back.

If this sounds like what's going on with yours, let me know and I'll keep you informed on our progress.

A buddy of mine had this happen on his Galant (starting throwing off the wall codes and went into limp mode periodically). He ended up having to replace his ECU. It was a total disaster. If your technician is putting DI Grease on electrical components, that isn't a one and done kind of thing. I have to go through that song and dance every single time I either work on or run my boat.

None of those codes sound reasonable. I hope that it is an easy fix, but diagnosing that problem is going to be a nightmare. I wish you luck.

Yeah, they just did that to test a theory. They have it narrowed down to one of 3 systems, but didn't want to start replacing them at random.

Is it me... or does this smell of a transmission issue?

I'm only throwing that out there because it's only a common thing to have transmission problems.

Doubtful. Only one of those codes was relevant to the transmission. The rest were seemingly random.
