Default Ambient Temperature a factor?

My Ralliart was driving in -11 to -12 degrees on the freeway, and the "Check Engine Light" came on when I was about to hit 3,000rpm in 6th gear and all power was lost, traction control turned off, and transmission service light came on.

couple seconds of letting my car shut off it starts up fine with no issues.

My question is can severe cold weather be a factor in making it have an issue? Because now it has no issues at all and check engine light is off.

Low temps, make boost spikes. Then the car shuts down.
