Not if you expect warranty coverage

I have opted to find a small shop that is familiar with Ralliarts and Evos and have my work done there. They source parts from the local dealer. This way I don't pay dealer rates, and I avoid trainee kids working on the car.

To cover my bases, I stop by the dealer on occasion for 'face time' as well. It helps to keep a good relationship with them if you can. Came in handy when I had some minor warranty service done a few months ago.

Granted I live in the city, and this isn't a viable solution for those for those who live in more remote areas.

I have the following people on the list I'm drafting to track tranny issues. If you have had troubles and are not listed, please let me know.

How did they know you did a fluid swap? Did you tell them?

Here is the process, complicated:

So are they denying it because you did indeed do your own fluid change? That's like saying that your warranty is void for changing your own motor oil... stupid. As long as you're using the correct fluids there should be no issue with warranty.

That is part of the problem the reasons for them voiding my warranty were ... 1. they cannot prove that the fluid inside my tansmission is DiaQueen SSTF-1 2. they cannot prove how much i drained or filled it 3. since im not a certified technician trained iwith the new SST I can not be certiain I did it properly

Are they saying it had to be a Mitsu tech that changed the fluid or just a licensed mechanic?

I hear you.

It's also hard to let Mitsu do all the work, as I've had poor service at the dealer (fluids not changed to spec or at all), etc. I'm sure others have as well. So you do the work yourself, ensuring the right fluids, steps are followed etc, and then they screw with you.

Honestly, I'd trust you to change the fluid in your own transmission than the noobs at the Stealership.

Let's say it's the clutches that are toast in this instance (and not the tranny computer or anything else). How many hours are involved in the clutchpack replacement?
